Airfield maintenance in operable condition does not stop as the spring season sets in, despite the end of the snow period. The sweeper is intended for removal of dust, debris, sand and crushed concrete from surface of the runway, apron and aircraft parking areas in the airport. The new airfield sweeper maintains the blowing air rate of 85 m/s. The cleared area is 140,000 m2 per hour with the highest sweeping speed of 40 km/h. The new sweeper will significantly reduce time for clearing of the whole airfield facility, positively influencing on performance of the airport’s airfield function and the overall upkeep level of the airfield territory.
To recap, supplies of new special machinery and equipment for various functions of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky International Airport (Elizovo) continue this year. The special machinery fleet has already got strong reinforcement within the implementation scope of the investment program of the Airport of Regions Holding, including two Schmidt TJS 630 jet sweepers, TLD TXL-838-UNI scissor high loaders, air start unit, three TFE-P.Y.S.55 aircraft recovery trailers with carrying capacity of at least 55 tonnes, and eight kits of aircraft recovery lifting bags by France’s Musthane. Supplies of equipment for aircraft forebody and wing lifting and two conveyor belts for baggage handling are expected shortly.
