Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Airport’s Traffic Sags by 27% in 2020

In 2020 the traffic at Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Elizovo) international airport (managed by Airports of Regions MC) came to 554,000 passengers, down 27% year-on-year. The airport provided its services for 551,000 passengers on domestic routes and for 3,600 passengers on international routes. The traffic sagged by 25.8% on inland routes and by 78.5% on international routes year-on-year. On Moscow flights the traffic went down by 27.5%, on Khabarovsk flights – by 40.3%, on Vladivostok flights – by 32.5%. The number of passengers on the flights to Novosibirsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk increased insignificantly in 2020 – by 2% and 1.6%, respectively.

More than 24,800 passengers received services on interregional flights. The lion’s share of the passenger traffic fell to the airports of Tilichiki (-37.3%) and Palana (-23.9%). A moderate growth was recorded on the Ust-Kamchatsk route (+14.7%).

Airlines performed the total of 5,098 sorties from Elizovo airport in 2020 with Aeroflot, Siberia and Aurora topping the rating by the number of passengers serviced. Most passengers were transported by Boeing 777-300ER, Airbus A319 and Airbus A320-NEO aircrafts. The route network of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Elizovo) airport included flights to 19 destinations, including 18 regular flights.
