A number of extra anti-epidemic measures have been taken at Petropavlosk-Kamchatsky (Elizovo) international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
A thermograph (infrared scanner) for distant thermometry of all visitors operates at the entrance to the passenger terminal in the inspection area where a vending machine is also set up with personal protective gear (facemasks and gloves) on offer. It should be reminded that as per the decree of Kamchatka Governor, the sojourn in public places including at the airport is conditioned on wearing an ear-loop face mask.
The airport employees are provided with one-off masks and gloves, whereas the employees directly contacting passengers also wear additional protective glasses.
Special disinfectants are used in regular clean-ups of the air hub with a special focus on electromagnetic gear and contacting surfaces such as door handles and handrails. Specialized vehicles involved in passenger service are also treated with disinfectants.
Passengers in check-in, preflight & entry inspection as well as waiting areas have free access to antiseptic hand treatment solutions. The PA system is used to remind of the need to keep a social distance of 1.5 meters between people. With this purpose in mind special markings and chair stickers have been applied in waiting areas. The retail operators operating in the passenger terminal also strictly adhere to epidemic-prevention rules. Shop assistants are provided with ear-loop facemasks, disposable gloves as well as hand treatment antiseptics which they also apply on contacting surfaces.
