became the most busy day in airport operations. The air harbor of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky serviced over 5,100 passengers on 39 flights on that day. Air carriers completed over 164 takeoffs and landings in total from December 28 to January 8. Flights were made to 17 destinations.
Moscow, Vladivostok and Khabarovsk became the top three most popular destinations. Tilichiki, Tigil and Palana took the lead in the rating of popular destinations within the framework of regional aviation of the Kamchatka Region. Kamchatka residents had an opportunity to travel for recreation in Phuket (Thailand) during the New Year holidays. More than 650 passengers made use of this popular resort destination over holidays, which is 30% above the figure of the prior New Year season.
