Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Airport’s Year-End Traffic Reaches 759,000 Passengers

From January to December 2019 Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Elizovo) international airport (part of the Airports of Regions holding) provided its services for 759 thou travelers. The annual traffic surpassed the previous year’s indicator by 8.8%, with 742 thou flyers using domestic airlines and 17,000 people flying with international airlines.

Interregional services were the most dynamically developing segment last year. The regular traffic on inland regular flights (apart from Moscow) reached 357 thou passengers, up 12% year-on-year.

The most popular domestic route apart from the capital city was Vladivostok – 144,600 flyers. Novosibirsk topped the rating of dynamically developing destinations, the traffic growth on this route reaching 43.5%. As for the regional flights, in highest demand among the residents of Kamchatka was Tilichiki with 21,400 passengers transported there. Flights to Thailand (Phuket) were among the most popular among international routes, demonstrating a 12.4% growth of traffic.

In 2019 airlines performed 3,901 sorties from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky airport (+9.2%), Aeroflot, Aurora and Rossiya being leaders in terms of the numbers of serviced flyers. The lion’s share of passengers was carried by Boeing 777-300ER, Airbus A319 and Boeing 737-800 planes. In the previous year the route network of Kamchatka’s main airport was represented by flights to 22 destinations, including 17 regular flights.
