Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Airport Acquires Aircraft Lifting Equipment

The Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky International Airport (Elizovo) (member of the Airports of Regions Holding) complemented emergency and rescue equipment systems with eight kits of aircraft recovery lifting bags by France’s Musthane: four kits of MARS-25T and four kits of MARS-40T aircraft recovery lifting bags.
Such equipment is used to lift an aircraft in case of accident-caused damages, usually undercarriage. The lifting bag kit comprises required implements to perform the aircraft lifting operation: distribution station, hoses, protecting cover, air manifold, ATMOS PDP 28 mobile screw compressor for compressed air injection into MARS-25T and MARS-40T inflatable bags.
Lifting bag kits make it possible to perform either partial lifting of the aircraft or lifting of the whole aircraft using several support points.  The aircraft is lifted to the required high for its repair or evacuation by air injection into inflatable bags by means of the compressor. MARS-25T and MARS-40T provide the lifting height up to 3 meters and lifting capacity of 25 tonnes and 45 tonnes respectively.
Three TFE-P.Y.S.55 aircraft recovery trailers with carrying capacity of at least 55 tonnes have already been purchased and delivered to the airport within the implementation framework of the investment program on airport stocking with emergency and rescue equipment. The trailer is intended for removal of the damaged aircraft with broken down main or front landing gear from the runway or adjacent area, including soil. Delivery of equipment for aircraft forebody and wing lifting is expected in May. Following supply of the last position, the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky International Airport (Elizovo) will be fully fitted with the emergency and rescue equipment to evacuate the aircraft that lost the ability to move from the airfield.
